Pontus Pharma has begun the process of laying the foundation for a successful entry into the next phase of growth this year. To further strengthen the management team, Mihael Furjan, a leader with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, international knowledge and network of contacts, is joining the company.
Furjan will become a partner and member of the Management Board of Pontus Pharma from 1 November 2025, joining the founder, majority owner and CEO Igor Haralović. Together, they will manage the company and shape its future.
Mihael Furjan brings an exceptionally rich experience from the pharmaceutical industry. For the past ten years, he has been the President of the Management Board of PLIVA, responsible for the operations of the Teva Group in Croatia and Southeast Europe. Prior to that, he served as the CEO of the global company Actavis in Switzerland, where he was responsible for international business development.
His career has been marked by a wide range of roles at PLIVA – from finance, research and development, business development, to commercial operations and the position of President of the Management Board of PLIVA Croatia. For the last four years, he has been the president of the Croatian Employers’ Association, and previously the president of the Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers at the Croatian Employers’ Association. He was also a member of the Supervisory Board of Medika.
